 Bio Cube Blog

~Summary~
This summer we started working on a bio cube! The bio cube was stuff that could describe us, there's name, background, personality, significance, obstacles, and quote. We started our bio cube project in summer bridge. We wrote into boxes of the 5 categories, then each day we shared one of the boxes until we shared all the boxes. I left to go on a trip for a little bit but when i got back we started on our creating our bio cubes. After designing our bio cubes on Canva, I asked Ms. Shayna to print out my bio cube pages. when i got my stuff, i was given a box by Mr. Ing. I taped all the stuff onto the box after cutting it out, creating my....🎉 bio cube!🎉  We then had an end of summer field trip, towards the end of the field trip we had to partner with an alumni. the other 7th grader with me was Cheyanne and the alumni was Jaybez. When we started school we did public speaking with our bio cubes where went to the cafe stage, in A101, and the outside stage, Then the bio cubes went up. Doing the bio cube was a really fun experience.

~Highlights/ Lowlights~
Some highlights of making the bio cube was finding more about my classmates, the field trip, sharing, and designing it. Finding out more about my friends was a highlight because it helped me get closer to some of my classmates. The field trip was a highlight because it was fun and i got sort of close with some alumni. sharing was a highlight because it was pretty fun to learn how to do public speaking and to project your voice. One lowlight was spending about 3 hours designing it. That was a lowlight because of my poor computer and my fingers hurt so much after that. But it was still a really fun part.

~Lessons Learned~
Some lessons i learned were: Responsibility and public speaking. In responsibility i had to be responsible for completing my bio cube and asking for my design to be printed. In public speaking i learned to speak in public and the 5 steps.

~GLO'S~
1. Self-Directed Learner: I had to be responsible for completing my bio cube and asking for my design to be printed.
2. Community Contributor: I had to work with period 3 on giving advice for their public speaking.
3. Complex Thinker: I had to think about what design best suited me.
4. Quality Producer: I had to design my bio cube while taking my time, and had to carefully tape and cut the pages unto the box.
5. Effective Communicator: I had to speak loud and clearly when presenting my bio cube.
6. Effective and Ethical User Of Technology: I had to use my computer and phone. I used canva on my computer and took pictures on my phone.
