Weekly Blog 1-1

This was my first week as a 7th grader. It was definitely nerve wracking and over all a great and memorable experience. August 6th, The week started off with me learning my classes, my heart dropped when i, first came because I was not ready for how many kids would be becoming new 7th graders. 7th graders excited to see their friends and either ready or not ready for 7th grade. I went to my new classes anxious and excited, after learning that I had Anela and some of my other friends in some of my classes, my nerves cooled down. The next day, August 7th, was diagnostic testing and going all my periods, i had cafe monitor so i left the diagnostic testing early. The diagnostic had me confused so much that my head hurt comprehending some of the questions. During cafe monitors i did trash, i swept the floors and me and the leadership 7th graders came with me to throw the garbage bags into the dumpsters. After Cafe monitor i went to all of my classes and went over some stuff. August 7th, That day i went to leadership in the morning I poked holes in the ID's, then when i was supposed to stay in advisory (A101) i went to my first period, I had only realized when I had kids in my "first period" who were not in my first period, my eyes widened and my face became a light red. I realized it and informed my teacher, after telling her, I just stayed in the classroom. since the periods were 1-3-5, I went to my classes. In 3rd period I went to leadership and we went over the blogs (Like the one your reading right now!) and summer blog. After going over that I started working on my summer blog that was due that night at 6:00pm. My last period was English, so I just took the diagnostic after going over the syllabus. I then went out with my friends after school. Friday rolled around and I reported into leadership, and observed the 8th graders working. The periods that day was 2-4-6, so I went to my classes and for 2nd period I had Social Studies and we went over the planners and did an activity. for 4th period we went over the planners (again) then I worked on my math diagnostic until 10:30 where I went to Cafe Monitors. I did food and Cheyanne was in charge of apples and I did sauce. After cafe monitors I went to 6th period where I had Science we went over the syllabus and did some activities, then after school I went to the welcome back fair at Campbell.

Some of my highlights for this week were being able to see my friends in person after so long, and meeting my teachers, and hanging out with my friends. Seeing my friends in person after so long was a highlight because I rarely call or text some of my friends over the summer since they were always busy and so was I. Meeting my teachers were a highlight of my week because I got to meet who my teachers were gonna be over the course of my 7th grade year. The teachers were all really cool. Hanging out with my friends after school were one of my highlights of this week because I got to hangout with them after a really long while. I didn't really have any lowlights except for my one of my classmates being rude to one of my favorite teachers. This is my lowlight for the week because they didn't have to be doing all of that, I think they thought they would be cool if they did that, but I don't agree with them if they think that. All the teacher did was simply give rules and ask them to put their head up. So that was my lowlight for the week but other than that this week had a whole lot of highlights.

Some lessons I learned is that thought some kids may act rude or disrespectful, don't follow them. instead be a respectful, kind, and nice person. To me that means be a great student and don't be peer pressured by your friends, because while maybe they find it "cool" the truth is, being respectful and leaving a good impression on your teachers. Some thing else I learned is that you have to let some things in one ear and out the other one. To me that means to not be bothered by what others are saying about you (If its bad) but when it comes to this make sure to accept advice if they are serious trying to help you be a better person. The last thing that I continue to learn is to not hold grudges, because they will just ruin your year, but instead forgive them. To me this means that grudges wont be important instead focus on the present and forgive those who have wronged you. Over all i couldn't have asked for a better first week of 7th grade. I am grateful for the 8th graders in leadership that helped me learn more about 7th grade and for teaching me some of these lessons. (Especially Sienna, Thank you for teaching me about the 2nd lesson, I know I can always turn to you, so thanks!)
